Lecture Programme of the German Federal Government

Joseph Beuys, one of the most influential German artists of the last century would have celebrated his 100th birthday in 2021. His principal objective was to broaden the definition and expand the borders of the arts: suggesting that art, common materials, and one's everyday life were ultimately inseparable. One year before the Indonesian artist collective ruangrupa curates documenta fifteen in Kassel, we look for historic and actual overlaps and influences in a similar spirit of open-mindedness.
