Rudolf Duala Manga Bell was educated in Germany at the end of the 19th century and attended schools in Aalen and in Ulm. After his return, he tried to educate the German government and the population about the arbitrary rule of the Germans in Cameroon. In the meantime King of the Duala, he was executed in 1914 for alleged high treason.
