Iran is in a difficult situation domestically and geopolitically: economic stagnation, youth unrest, sanctions and regional conflicts are straining the stability of the regime. Therefore, the country is trying to gain regional influence. At the same time, the regime wants to win economic and political partners – in countries that are politically more at odds with the United States. Regardless of geopolitics, Iran will continue to try to navigate the rivalry of the great powers, shape its region and advance its religion.
