Thailand

Country Report

As the only country in Southeast Asia to escape colonialism, Thailand has preserved a distinctive culture. Since 2014, the new government has placed an emphasis on social prosperity and integration. It wants to base Thailand's national identity on a strong Buddhist culture. To this end, it promotes "Thai values". Education and science diplomacy are a crucial factor in Thailand's foreign cultural policy. It aims to realise the Thailand 4.0 vision, achieve national strategy of becoming a high-income country by 2037 and promote international cooperation. Regional cooperation and exchange with ASEAN countries is also a high priority for Thailand.
