Challenge of the Future

Brexit is dividing British society: between generations, between cosmopolitan liberals and more rural conservatives, between communities divided by historical conflicts over religion or nationality. Comparable tensions are omnipresent in the European Union - the "yellow waistcoats" in France, right-wing extremists in Andalusia, the Central European University expelled from Budapest. Society is increasingly divided among and against itself. So is Brexit a process rather than a single event?
