Through its external cultural policy (ECP), Denmark has long advocated for peaceful relations, liberal values, and international cooperation. Despite being a relatively small country, its focus on economics, culture and diplomacy rather than military strength helped Denmark "punch above its weight". For example, Denmark was the first country to have an ambassador to the technology industry. However, several contradictions and potential pitfalls in the Danish approach may affect Danish ECP in the future.
