France (2023)

Country Report

Alongside security and trade policy, foreign cultural policy is one of the three pillars of French foreign policy. A new approach under the Macron government, with a stronger presence in Europe and emerging countries, has given new impetus to foreign cultural policy. France relies on a multi-pronged and integrated model, supported by a well-developed diplomatic network and local partnerships. France has the largest network of external cultural policy institutions. It is strengthened by close links with diplomatic missions around the world.
