Hungary's current external cultural policy is characterised by a controversial approach that caters towards conservative audiences globally. While some analysts view Hungary's ECP negatively due to its divisiveness and open promotion for far-right ideas, this approach has boosted Hungary's profile positively internationally, almost exclusively among the political right. Despite its small size, Hungary significantly influences the global conversation by politicising its ECP and fostering right-wing intellectual communities, both in Hungary and abroad. But the controversial nature of their influence may be a double-edged sword in the long term.
