Weimar Triangle Expert Consultation Report and Policy Brief
In times of multiple, overlapping crises, calls for greater participation are emerging both within and beyond European societies. Polarisation and radicalisation are accelerating, and a persistent, group-centred, exclusionary notion of culture is emerging, prompting crucial questions:
Can the cultural sector help to strengthen European democracies? How can it rebuild a broad consensus around a common set of democratic values in Europe? These interrogations inform the recommendations set out in this Policy Brief, which was authored by experts from the Weimar Triangle and draws on a Chatham House workshop that brought together twenty practitioners and researchers from seven European countries.
