The United Kingdom's current global reputation has been affected by decades of economic stagnation and the isolating effects of Brexit. With the new Labour government and increased attention on soft power, the UK's external cultural policy (ECP) may gain a renewed appeal. Despite the UK's strong basis in ECP, contraditions between the UK's dual focus on commercialised ECP and increased national sovereignty will continue to challenge its implementation.
