Although it boasts rich multicultural heritage, Serbia is not well positioned internationally. The long-term success of the small Slavic country in Southeast Europe will depend on whether it manages to strengthen its economic and political institutions and overcome the stereotype of the ‚rogue state‘. The city of Belgrade with its rich Yugoslav cultural infrastructure and flagship events is the most important international player.
