Kenya

Country Report

After periods of political instability and several political reforms, Kenya has based its foreign and external cultural policy (ECP) on several principles: territorial integrity, peaceful co-existence and the traditional spirit of 'harambee'. Translated from Kiswahili, Harambee means 'all pull together' and stands for community self-help. Kenya's ECP is primarily aimed at supporting the country's socio-economic interests and facilitating the implementation of Kenya's Vision 2030. At present, Kenya does not have sufficient infrastructure to conduct institutional diplomacy, but its potential in digital diplomacy should not be underestimated.
